    About Us

The overarching goal of the educational ministry of Hope Church is to provide an educational system within the church that starts where individuals and families are spiritually and intellectually and leads them to maturity in Christ. Only by meeting individuals and families where they are, can we obey God's command to love one another and our neighbor. Only by growing beyond where we are, both intellectually and spiritually, can we hope for the day when God is glorified and enjoyed by young and old alike ... when typical families will cheerfully and deliberately order their lives around daily devotions in the home and Sunday worship with the church.

    Elective One: Essentials of Membership

This is our new members' course and runs for a full quarter (12 weeks). The course is designed for both current members of Hope Church as well as those who desire to join with us. Our goal is to get people interacting with each other on both a casual level, as well as a Biblical one and to bring us to more of a unity of mind and heart in identity and direction as a church. We will be covering such topics as what it means to be Reformed and Presbyterian and what it means to be a member of a local church. It is not our expectation that everyone will agree with everything. However, it is important that we all understand the official positions of the church. The class will be moderated/taught by the five members of Session, including the pastor. Participation in this class does not constitute a commitment to join, but it does make that a viable option, both in terms of a better understanding as well as fulfilling a requirement for membership. Teenagers who desire to join the church are welcome to participate in this class.

    - Taught by the elders

Elective Two: The Minor Prophets of Israel (Samaria)

This class will examine the books of Amos, Jonah, and Hosea. We will look at the major themes of these books, at the history surrounding them and reflections on God's Patience and Faithfulness.

    - Taught by Glen Riexinger

Elective Three: I Second That Emotion - Untangling Our Zany Feelings - by Patsy Clairmont

I Second That Emotion is about helping you untangle those "supersized" emotions. It's about finding those places where your emotions hid and exposing them to God's grace. And who better to lead you through a heartfelt journey to understanding emotions than a recoevered agoraphobic with a pronounced funnybone? (Patsy Clairmont)

    - Taught by Leslie Goleneski
